Qualified Counsellor
In summary, I am a very supportive counsellor equipped to assist with a wide range of issues.  I offer compassionate, non- diagnostic support and counselling for adults, teens and children (above the age of 8 years) where m  where I provide a safe, non-judgemental environment where my clients can explore life's challenges, gain perspective, and work towards healing, growth and understanding.

My counselling approach is supportive, client-centred and relational, grounded in respect for each person's dignity, autonomy and self- determination. I walk alongside my clients as they navigate emotional struggles, relationship difficulties, stress, grief, personal growth, family challenges and other life concerns.

I work with adults, teens and children over the age of eight years. I offer in - person counselling sessions as well as virtual sessions. I am based in Meadowdale, Germiston on the East Rand.

Where children are concerned, I do not offer virtual sessions as this simply does not work for them. They get bored easily and their sessions need to remain physically active.

I welcome clients from all backgrounds, cultures and belief systems, I aim to create a space where every client feels heard, respected and supported. LGBTQ+ clients are welcome to attend sessions with me.

I also offer addiction counselling for both supporters as well as recovering addicts that have completed an in-patient treatment program. I worked for seven years at a treatment facility and have also experienced addiction first hand as well. I have been on both sides of the fence, having a child with substance abuse issues, as well as assisting addicted individuals within a rehabilitation environment.

I have achieved a BA Degree in Theological Studies and Pastoral Counselling as well as a Level 1 and Level 2 certificate in Gestalt Play Therapy. Please note that I am not a doctor, psychologist, psychiatrist or a social worker. I cannot diagnose and I cannot prescribe medication. I am required to complete a certain amount of Continuing Developmental Credits in order to retain my registration with the association that I am registered with.
My career has progressed from having my own business selling substance abuse tests, I was then asked by clients to come in and test their staff for substance abuse, which then led me to assisting staff testing positive with counselling. At this stage I was only qualified by experience and decided at the age of 43 to qualify myself. I then spent seven years at a rehabilitation centre. I have been working for myself for four and a half years now, working as a counsellor on a one on one basis. Within this time parents or care givers started to approach me, asking if I could assist with their children. Again, I up-skilled myself again in order to enable me to work with children.

As we all know, times are hard these days, I consider my sessions to be affordable and because of this people are able to get the counselling that they need. All sessions are conducted with professionalism and all ethical standards will be adhered to. This is my calling and my passion. I invite you to come just as you are.
